What is the minimum age for rifle shooting?

The minimum age for rifle shooting at NPF Bassetts Pole is 8 years old.

Is rifle shooting suitable for children?

Yes! Our professional instructors are familiar with running shooting experiences for players as young as 8 years old, making rifle shooting an ideal family friendly activity.

What do I need to wear?

Players should wear their own comfortable clothing with suitable outdoor footwear such as trainers, walking boots or even wellies! Coveralls may be provided should weather conditions or activities dictate.

Do we need any experience?

No! Our professional instructors ensure rifle shooting is ideal for novices or professionals, whatever your skill level.

Do I need a firearms certificate to go rifle shooting?

No license is required for shooting rifles at NPF Bassetts Pole.

Is all ammunition and equipment included?

Yes! All pellets used for your session, targets, safety gear, and professional instructors are included.

What safety equipment is required?

We provide eye protection, hearing protection is not required for these rifles.

What rifle is used at your range?

We use the BSA Ultra SE PCP air rifle, equipped with telescopic sights and a bench rest. This gun uses compressed air to provide consistent accuracy at long ranges and is precision made here in Birmingham.

Are the guns heavy? Will anyone have trouble holding them?

No! Our rifles are shot from a seated position using a bench rest. There is no weight to shoulder and minimal recoil.

What calibre is the rifle?

Our rifles are .177 calibre air rifles.

How many lanes are there at your rifle shooting range?

Our rifle shooting range has 6 lanes.

Can I still go shooting if it is raining?

Our shooting range has covered shooting areas, you would not be affected by rain!

Can I just turn up and shoot?

Pre booking is required, to ensure we have availability for your session.

Can I bring my own gun to your shooting range?

We only allow use of our own airguns at the rifle range.

Can I book rifle shooting with other activities?

Yes! If you book any 2 activities you get £5 off per person. Book any 3, get £10 off per person. Book 4, get £15 off per person, etc!
